Under 12’s Moama Black v Kyabram Black – Friday 31st July 2009
The last game of the season was played at Kyabram between Moama Black and Ky Black.
The first quarter was a very tight affair with both teams in good form. Good marking and shepherds resulted in more points than goals being scored.
In the second quarter the opposition continued on with their endeavour. Moama Black were required to pull out all of their skills. Marks and pressure applied by Cubby, McGregor and Power helped the goal kickers convert.
In the third quarter both sides found it hard to score with great play by Hughes, Grubb, Marshall and Milson.
The final quarter saw Moama with their overall strength able to surge ahead from the opposition. Walker was sound in the back line, Dullard, Thompson and Farrell all contributed.
Goals: Jack Elliott 2, Jack Hughes 2, Ben Walker 1, Nic Johnson 1, Jayden Gulson 1,
Tom Smith 1, and Jesse Higgins 1
Awards: Joel Murphy, Ben Walker, Darcy Dullard, Jackson Farrell, Bailey Grubb, Jayden Gulson and Lachlan Sims.

Netball Results Round 17
A grade was always going to be a difficult match against premiership favourites. Some great passages of play, solid defence again by Emma Farrant and Karen McCalman. Great goaling by Bree Power in the last. Awards to Emma Farrant and B grade fill in Ash Farrelly. Thanks also to Coby and Vicki for coming up after full games. Final score Tongala 62 defeated Moama 23

The B grade game was goal for goal in the first quarter, set the standard for the entire match. Strong goaling and rebounding by Coby and Ella made a difficult task for the Toni defence. A great team effort all round and an important win coming into finals. Awards to Ella Wales and Paige Jones. Moama 52 defeated Tongala 45.

In a very exciting encounter the entire C grade team lifted from being 8 goals down at quarter time (another slow start) to a thrilling one goal win. Best player was Kelli Johns; most determined Jac Tomlinson were all well supported by all the girls. Final score Moama 52 defeated Tongala 51.

Under 14s
The little tackers tried hard again against Tongala but were outclassed by a very good team.We started the game strongly but unfortunately we were unable to kick goals, with 4 points being registered in the first quarter before Tongala moved into top gear and made things pretty tough for the rest of the game.Tyson Waters, Will Groves and Josh Taylor were again amongst our better players but all our boys kept trying as they do every week.

Moama Black Under 12 24/07/09
Moama Black hosted Echuca United in perfect football conditions on Friday night. Moama welcomed back our o/s holiday maker Bailey Grubb and our resident farm hand Harry Robson.
The first quarter was played at a frantic pace which saw some of our younger team members playing great team football with plenty of shepherds and tackles.
The second quarter belonged to our opposition, and if not for the sure ball handling of Jackson Farrell and Cody Cameron on the wings, we would have been in real trouble. Sam Marshall took a “RICHO” style mark, played on and kicked a great team lifting goal.
The third quarter saw our players snap back into action and open the game right up. Great passages of play by Logan Power, Clay McGregor, Jesse Higgins, Harry Robson, Jack Thompson and Tom Smith ensured we got full value for our possessions on the scoreboard.
The final quarter was a continuation of good running football with all the “team aspects” on display.
Goals: Joel Murphy 2, Ben Walker 2, Jack Elliott 2, Tom Givney 2, Logan Power 1, Jack Hughes 1, Sam Marshall 1,
Awards: Jack Elliott, Sam Evans, Tom Givney, Harry Robson, Sam Marshall, Jack Thompson, Jesse Higgins
Tool of the Week: Was awarded to Kody Milson who when required to come off the bench was found at the canteen looking for something to eat.
